Andrey Milekhin gave a lecture at the Financial University
On 21 March, Andrei Milekhin, President of ROMIR, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, delivered a lecture at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communications of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. The audience included not only students of the university, but also the teaching staff - well-known sociologists and political scientists.
Andrei Milekhin's speech was devoted to two topics. The first was the problem of the crisis of survey methods in modern research. Traditional polling methods have outlived themselves in the digital world. Moreover, the use of classical surveys often leads to distorted results. New approaches to human studies should be based on new tools and techniques. As an example, the speaker presented the ROMIR longitudinal research system, describing its uniqueness, capabilities and advantages.
As the conversation continued, Andrey Milekhin moved on to the topic of demography. Being the leader of the domain of the same name within the Horizon 2040 project, the speaker is deeply immersed in the issue. Therefore, he spoke about demographic policy not only in terms of population growth and decline, but also touched on urbanisation and migration flows. In conclusion, he presented psychodemographic formulas, the implementation of which, in the expert's opinion, can change the demographic situation in the country.
