Andrey Milekhin on RBC
Andrey Milekhin noted that, despite the objective difficulties associated with rising prices and inflation, there is no widespread unrest or anxiety in society.
Milekhin noted that the consumer confidence index reached its highest level in the last three years by the summer of 2024. In his opinion, in the context of rising prices, inflation and growing unemployment problems, social factors are more significant than economic ones.
To illustrate this statement, he cited the example of the "burger index", which shows the difference in the availability of goods in different regions of Russia. "In one region, a product can be twice as expensive as in another, and three times more expensive in Moscow. This is not only an economic but also a social problem," he noted.
Milekhin also noted the problem of unemployment, which in some regions reaches a level of less than 1%. In his opinion, it is necessary to solve the problems of imbalance in the structure of society as quickly as possible, taking into account all its diversity.
