Half of russians plan to do home preservation for the winter
Almost half of russians (49%) plan to make homemade preserves for the winter — jams, compotes, pickled vegetables or mushrooms, the study showed* Romir.
Residents of the regions belonging to the Southern and North Caucasus (57%) and Volga (53%) federal districts were more likely than others to talk about their plans to make preparations for the winter. Respondents in the age groups of 45-59 years (61%) and over 60 years (59%) also expressed their intentions more often. 38% of russians reported that they had never made preparations for the winter and were not going to make them this year. These answers were most often given by young people aged 18-24 years (70%) and 25-34 years (52%).
13% of votes refer to the answer "I always have, but I won't this year." The leaders among such responses were also people over 60 years old (20%). In the regional context, the largest number of such responses fell on the Siberian and Far Eastern (16%) and Volga (15%) federal districts.
According to Romir Consumer Scan Panel, 97.1% of households have purchased conservation over the past year. On average, each DH makes such purchases 10 times a year. There is an increase in the frequency of acquisition of all tracked positions compared to the previous year. At the same time, there is a decrease in the size of the audience in the categories "cucumbers" (47.4% vs. 56.7% last year), "corn" (75.3% vs. 84.1%), "peas" (79.8% vs. 86.5%) and "olives" (59% vs. 66.2%).
*The survey was conducted on the basis of the Romir Consumer Scan Panel, 1.5 thousand Russians over the age of 18 took part in it according to a representative sample. Respondents were asked the question: “Do you plan to make food preparations (jam, pickles) for the winter this year?”
Romir Consumer Scan Panel is a unique technological development, thanks to which Romir collects and analyzes data on purchases of households and individual consumers. The panel sample represents the entire population of Russia living in cities numbering more than 10 thousand people.
