Trust rating. Winter 2023-2024

30 January 2024

The top five in the trust rating of Russians has not changed since last fall. The country's President Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu are still in the first places. TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov has been consistently in fifth place for several waves in a row.

But in the top ten, from sixth to tenth place, relatively new faces appeared due to the improvement of their positions compared to the autumn ranking. The sixth and seventh lines were retained by Dmitry Medvedev and Andrey Malakhov, respectively. In eighth position was Dmitry Peskov, who rose from 11th place during the season. Ninth place went to Konstantin Khabensky. And the TOP-10 is closed by TV presenter Olga Skabeeva, who was in 13th place in the consolidated rating last fall.

There have been some changes in the second ten of the Ranking this winter. Pavel Volya, Sergei Sobyanin, Dmitry Nagiyev, Ksenia Sobchak, Nikita Mikhalkov retained their presence. Among the new defendants were actors Vladimir Mashkov and Sergei Bezrukov, singer Yaroslav Dronov (Shaman), Foreign Ministry press secretary Maria Zakharova and communist leader Gennady Zyuganov.

Thus, in the TOP 20 of the winter trust rating, places were distributed almost equally between politicians and TV and art figures, with a slight advantage in favor of the latter. President of ROMIR, Doctor of Sociological Sciences Andrei Milekhin emphasizes: “It is significant that Gennady Zyuganov and Maria Zakharova appeared in the top twenty of the Trust Rating, which happened for the first time. Also significant is the strengthening of the positions of Sergei Sobyanin and Dmitry Peskov. This is probably explained by the growing pre-election background in the country.”

These are the results of the winter trust rating* of Russians, which is compiled on a quarterly basis by the ROMIR research holding. More detailed data and calculation methodology can be found in the Ratings section.

Quarterly measurements are carried out on the basis of the ROMIR Unified Data Panel. Russians over 14 years old answered the question: “Which public figure in Russia do you trust? Name 7 people, where the first one will be the one you trust the most.” Based on the survey results, a personality rating was compiled. The votes cast for each person were counted, taking into account the place of his mention: that is, for the first place the person was assigned 7 (seven) points, for the second – 6 (six) and so on until the seventh place. Based on the results of the measurement, a rating of the top 100 public figures by trust in Russia was compiled. The study involved 2,400 respondents. The sample represents the entire population of Russia.
