Most popular car brands this year
Romir Research Holding published the visibility index of car brands among Russians. The rating is based on the results of an annual survey carried out by Romir Consumer Scan Panel *.
Nissan and Toyota topped the visibility rating with 97%. Their visibility index increased versus the previous year by 3 and 2 percentage points, respectively. The only representative of the domestic automobile industry, Lada, follows them and opens the list of brands, which did not reach the leaders by 1 p.p. Traditionally strong positions are held by German manufacturers BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen, as well as their Japanese counterparts Lexus, Mitsubishi and Mazda positioned at the top of the list.
Despite the increase in visibility, Korean brands Hyundai (95%, +2 pp) and Kia (95%, +1 pp) fell slightly short of the leading group and have not yet been able to return to the level they had five years ago when their figure was 99%. The rating is closed by Chinese brands Chery (72%, +6 p.p.), Geely (65%, +5 p.p.), Haval (61%, +10 p.p.) and Changan (40%, unchanged), which are gaining popularity among drivers with an increase in marketing campaigns and sales.
